Fire Fighter on the Game Boy is one of those deceptively simple games that gets way more intense than you'd expect. You start off just running into burning buildings, spraying water at flames—seems straightforward, right? Then suddenly you're juggling multiple fires, dodging collapsing ceilings, and trying to figure out which trapped civilians to save first before the whole place goes up.

The controls are basic—d-pad to move, two buttons for water and rescues—but the chaos escalates fast. I remember my first playthrough, thinking I had it under control until a fire I ignored in one room spread and cut off my exit. Classic Game Boy "oh crap" moment.

It's got that old-school charm where the graphics are tiny but clear, and the tension comes from the gameplay, not flashy effects. You can practically hear the 8-bit sirens blaring as you play. If you dig retro games that punish hesitation, this one's a blast (pun very much intended). Just don't be surprised when you lose track of time trying to beat your high score.
