Fighting Golf on the NES is one of those weirdly charming sports games from the late '80s. It's got Lee Trevino's name slapped on it, but don't expect a serious sim—this is arcade-style golf with a competitive twist. You pick between stroke play or this odd "fighting" mode where you and an opponent take turns trying to one-up each other's shots.

The controls are simple—just power and accuracy meters—but the wind actually messes with your ball in a way that feels surprisingly real for an 8-bit game. First time I played, I totally whiffed a putt because I didn't account for the slope. Graphics are basic (it's an NES game, come on), but the little golfer animations when you nail a long drive are weirdly satisfying.

Not gonna lie, the "endorsed by the US National Video Game Team" thing feels random, but hey, it's a solid time if you're into retro sports games. Just don't go in expecting PGA Tour realism.
