Fighter Destiny 2 is one of those N64 fighters that doesn’t play like anything else—instead of just knocking out your opponent, you rack up points by landing clean hits, counters, and flashy moves. At first, it feels weird if you’re used to Street Fighter or Tekken, but once you get the hang of it, there’s something really satisfying about nailing a perfect throw or dodging at the last second for bonus points.
The roster’s got a solid mix—samurai, wrestlers, even a weird clown guy—and they all handle differently. I kept going back to the ninja because her flips made point farming way easier, but the boxer’s straight-up punches have their own rhythm. The stages are simple, but the camera zooms in when you pull off big moves, which never gets old.
It’s not the deepest fighter out there, but the scoring system makes every match feel like its own little puzzle. You’ll catch yourself replaying fights just to top your last score.
