Felix the Cat on NES is one of those classic platformers that just oozes charm. You play as the iconic cartoon cat, bouncing around colorful levels to rescue his girlfriend Kitty from the Professor—who, let’s be honest, is kind of a jerk for kidnapping her over a magic bag.
The coolest part? Felix transforms depending on what power-up he grabs. Smack a TV and suddenly you’re piloting a little plane, or turn into a submarine when you hit the water. The controls are simple, but some of those later levels get sneaky with enemies popping up where you least expect them.
It’s got that old-school difficulty where you’ll probably die a few times figuring out the jumps, but the music and animations make it feel like playing an actual cartoon. Just watch out for Rock Bottom—that guy’s annoying. If you like retro platformers with personality, this one’s a solid pick.
