About Faria:a World Of Mystery And Danger
Faria: A World of Mystery and Danger came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1990, developed by Game Arts. It was part of that wave of action RPGs on the NES that tried to build on what Zelda started, offering a big world to get lost in without the same level of recognition.
You control a warrior exploring the land of Faria, moving screen by screen through fields, towns, and dungeons. Your main goal is to rescue a kidnapped princess, which involves fighting monsters with your sword, managing your inventory carefully, and gradually upgrading your gear. The combat happens in real time, and the dungeons are maze-like, requiring you to find specific items to progress. The game has a deliberate pace and can be quite difficult, especially when you are low on health or searching for a well hidden path. It feels like a substantial, sometimes punishing journey where every new piece of equipment makes a tangible difference.
