Oh man, Family Trainer - Totsugeki! Fuuun Takeshi Jou is one of those gloriously weird NES games that never made it outside Japan. You ever play those old-school physical activity games where you had to jump on a mat controller? This is the Japanese version of that madness, but with Takeshi's Castle-style obstacle courses.
First thing you'll notice is how ridiculous it looks—bright colors, exaggerated animations, and this hyper Japanese game show vibe. You're basically running, jumping, and dodging obstacles by stomping on the Family Trainer mat (or mashing buttons if you're emulating). The controls are janky in that classic NES way, but that's half the charm. One minute you're hopping over rolling logs, the next you're getting knocked into water by a giant swinging fist. It's chaotic, kinda unfair, and weirdly addictive.
If you're into retro oddities or just want to see what physical gaming looked like before Wii Fit, this is a hilarious time capsule. Just don't expect it to play fair.
