About Family Trainer - Rairai Kyonsees (japan)
Family Trainer: Rairai Kyonsees came out in 1986 for the Nintendo Entertainment System, published by Bandai. It was part of a series of games designed for the Family Trainer mat, a large plastic pad you stepped on to control the action. This was during a time when the NES was full of simple, active games meant to get players off the couch.
You control a character on screen by running in place on the mat, moving through a series of obstacle courses and mini games. The main goal is to complete each stage as quickly as possible, avoiding hazards and collecting items. Signature mechanics include timing your jumps over pits by stepping on the correct buttons and competing in short athletic challenges against another player or the clock. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty comes from coordinating your physical movements with the on-screen action. It feels like a chaotic, energetic party game that is more about laughter than high scores.
