Family Jockey (japan) Game

Family Jockey is one of those weird little Game Boy gems that never left Japan—basically a horse racing sim where you bet, breed, and train your stable. The pixel art horses are oddly charming, and there's something satisfying about watching your underdog colt finally win after a brutal losing streak.
It's got that classic late '80s/early '90s menu-heavy design, so expect lots of stat screens and text (unless you read Japanese, then... good luck). But once you figure out the basics, it's weirdly addictive in short bursts. Just don't expect Triple Crown-level depth.
Also, yes, you can name your horse something ridiculous. That alone might be worth the playtime.
