About Family Feud
Family Feud on the NES came out in 1991, developed by Beam Software. It was one of those many game show adaptations that tried to bring a piece of television right into your living room, using the console's capabilities to mimic the show's familiar set and host, Louie Anderson.
You control a family of five contestants, selecting answers from a list to match the most popular survey responses. The main goal is to outscore the opposing family by reaching 300 points first, which then unlocks the Fast Money bonus round. Key mechanics include trying to avoid three strikes during your turn, which passes control to the other team and gives them a chance to steal the points. The game moves at the show's deliberate pace, and the difficulty hinges entirely on how well you can guess what other people said. It feels like a direct, if simple, translation of the TV experience onto the console.
