Family Boxing (japan) Game

Family Boxing (or Ring King, depending on where you played it) is one of those NES boxing games that somehow manages to be both ridiculous and weirdly satisfying. You pick from a lineup of fighters who all look like they've been hitting the gym way too hard—some with mustaches so thick they deserve their own weight class.
The controls are simple: jab, hook, and this weird spinning punch that feels like cheating when it lands. Between rounds, you get these bizarre training minigames where you punch tires or dodge medicine balls. Mess up, and your trainer scowls at you like you just ruined his life.
It's janky, the AI occasionally goes full Mike Tyson on you, and the crowd looks like they're made of cardboard. But there's something charming about how over-the-top it all is. If you can get past the stiffness, it's a fun little time capsule of early boxing games.
