Family Block (japan) Game

Family Block is one of those classic NES puzzlers that flew under the radar outside Japan—basically Tetris but with a slightly different twist. You’re still stacking blocks, but the shapes feel a little weirder, and the music has that unmistakable 8-bit charm. The first time I played, I kept expecting it to play exactly like Tetris and kept messing up because the pieces rotate differently.
It’s simple at first, but once the speed picks up, you’ll realize this isn’t just a clone—it’s got its own rhythm. The colors are bright, the controls are tight (as long as your emulator isn’t lagging), and there’s something satisfying about clearing lines in this version that Tetris never quite nailed. If you’re into retro puzzle games, this one’s a neat little time capsule.
