Fairy Tale's Club is one of those weird little Game Boy RPGs that somehow makes fairy tales feel fresh. You start off picking between three characters—I went with the knight first, but honestly, the witch's magic ended up being way more fun once I figured out the spell combos.

The whole thing plays like someone mashed up Mother Goose with a dungeon crawler. One minute you're helping Goldilocks fend off possessed teddy bears, the next you're bartering with a very suspicious-looking Rumplestiltskin for better gear. The pixel art has this rough-but-charming style where every forest and castle feels like it's straight out of a storybook with scribbled margins.

Combat's simple but has just enough strategy—enemies hit harder than you'd expect, so you actually have to use buffs and debuffs instead of mashing attack. And the music? Weirdly catchy chiptune renditions of nursery rhymes that'll get stuck in your head for days. It's janky in places, but that's part of the charm.

If you ever find a copy, it's worth playing just to see how bizarrely they reinterpret classic tales.
