F1 Pole Position 64 is one of those N64 racers that actually makes you feel like you're wrestling with a real F1 car—not just holding down the gas and hoping for the best. The handling’s twitchy at first, especially if you’re used to arcade racers, but once you get the hang of it, nailing those tight Monaco corners feels weirdly satisfying.
All the classic Grand Prix tracks are here, and the weather actually messes with your grip in a way that’ll make you rethink your whole strategy mid-race. You can tweak your car setup too, though I spent way too long fiddling with tire pressure before realizing I was just bad at driving.
It’s not the prettiest racer on the N64, but the sense of speed when you hit a straightaway? Still holds up. Just don’t expect mercy if you botch the first turn.
