About F-1 World Grand Prix (f)
F-1 World Grand Prix came out for the Nintendo 64 in 1998, developed by Paradigm Entertainment. It was one of the few dedicated Formula One games on the console, arriving at a time when racing sims were pushing into more realistic territory. You got a full season of the 1998 FIA Formula One World Championship, complete with official teams, drivers, and circuits.
You control a single Formula One car from a cockpit or chase view, aiming to qualify well and then win races against the computer opponents. The game emphasizes a simulation style, so you manage your fuel load and tire wear over the course of a Grand Prix; pitting for fresh tires and a refill is a regular part of the strategy. The handling feels heavy and requires careful braking before corners, making it easy to spin out if you are too aggressive.
