F-1 Spirit on the Game Boy is one of those old-school racers that somehow nails the feel of speed even with the hardware limits. You’ve got tight corners, rival cars that actually fight for position, and this weirdly satisfying sense of momentum when you nail a drift. The tracks are simple but punishing—mess up a turn and you’ll spend half a lap trying to catch up.

It’s not flashy, but the handling has weight to it, and the AI doesn’t just rubberband. You’ll recognize some classic F1 circuits if you squint, though they’re obviously scaled down. The music’s got that classic chiptune energy too, all bleeps and bloops that somehow make going 200kph in a tiny black-and-white car feel legit.

Definitely one of the better racing games the Game Boy ever got.
