F-15 Strike Eagle on Game Boy is one of those old-school flight sims that somehow makes a tiny screen feel like a cockpit. You start off picking a mission—bombing runs, dogfights, the usual—and then it’s just you, your jet, and a whole lot of pixelated enemies. The controls take a second to get used to (good luck nailing those tight turns at first), but once it clicks, you’re weaving through missiles like a pro.
It’s surprisingly deep for a Game Boy game—fuel management, radar tracking, even choosing your loadout before takeoff. The graphics are obviously basic, but there’s something weirdly satisfying about watching those little planes explode into blocky fireballs. And yeah, the music’s got that classic 8-bit urgency that makes every near-miss feel like a movie moment.
If you’ve got a soft spot for retro flight games, this one’s a solid time capsule. Just don’t expect it to hold your hand.
