Extreme-G XG2 is one of those N64 racers that still feels fast as hell today. You’re not just racing—you’re blasting down twisting, neon-lit tracks on a bike that looks like it escaped from a cyberpunk garage, dodging plasma bolts and dropping mines behind you. The first time you hit a boost pad and your screen warps into hyperspeed, it’s pure chaos in the best way.
The tracks loop upside down, spiral through tunnels, and sometimes just throw you into zero-G sections where you’re praying you don’t slam into a wall. And yeah, the weapons help—homing missiles, shields, all that good stuff—but half the battle is just staying on the bike when the speedometer’s pegged. It’s got that classic late-’90s arcade vibe where everything’s a little over-the-top and your hands hurt after a few races from gripping the controller too tight.
If you ever played Wipeout and thought “this needs more explosions,” XG2’s got you covered.
