Extreme-G 2 on the N64 is basically what happens when you take F-Zero, crank the speed up to "why is my vision blurring," and throw in some wild sci-fi weaponry. The tracks twist and loop like they were designed by someone who just discovered zero gravity, and the bikes—if you can even call them that—feel like they're barely under control. At first, I kept slamming into walls because everything moves so fast, but once you get the hang of it, pulling off a perfect drift around a corkscrew turn is stupidly satisfying.
The soundtrack is pure late-'90s techno, the kind that makes you feel like you're racing through a neon-drenched cyberpunk city even when you're technically in space. And yeah, the graphics were impressive for the time, though these days they’ve got that charmingly blocky N64 look. Still holds up if you’re into that era’s brand of chaos.
If you miss the days when racing games didn’t care about realism and just wanted to melt your face with speed, this one’s a blast.
