About Exodus
Exodus came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991, published by Color Dreams under their Wisdom Tree label. It was part of a wave of unlicensed games that bypassed Nintendo's official approval process, offering a different kind of content for the console.
You control Moses, guiding him through a series of maze-like levels to lead the Israelites. Your main goal is to collect five question marks and a set amount of manna in each stage while avoiding soldiers and magicians. Moses attacks by shooting glowing "W"s, representing the word of God, to defeat enemies and clear blockades. After finishing a level, you answer five multiple-choice Bible questions; getting enough right earns an extra life. The pacing is methodical, focused on careful navigation and memorization rather than speed. Playing it feels like a deliberate, puzzle-oriented trek through a simplified biblical narrative.
