Escape From Atlantis, The (unl) (proto1) Game

Escape from Atlantis for NES is one of those weird, kinda janky proto games that never got an official release—which honestly makes it more interesting. You're basically trying to guide your little dude through a sinking island while dodging sharks and sea monsters. The controls are stiff (it is an NES prototype, after all), but there's something charming about the pixelated chaos as the land tiles disappear under you.
First time I played, I didn’t realize the water rises faster the longer you take, so yeah… I drowned. A lot. The music’s got that classic 8-bit urgency, and the sharks move in these weird, unpredictable patterns that keep you on your toes. Not gonna lie, it’s rough around the edges, but if you’re into obscure retro stuff, it’s a neat little time capsule.
Definitely more of a curiosity than a must-play, but worth booting up if you dig lost gaming history.
