Elysion (japan) Game

Elysion is one of those obscure NES JRPGs that never made it out of Japan—which is a shame, because it’s got this weird, almost dreamlike vibe to it. You start off wandering through these sparse, almost minimalist dungeons, fighting off monsters with a party you assemble from different classes. The music’s oddly haunting, too—like someone composed it on a synth in an empty room at 3 AM.
Combat’s pretty standard turn-based stuff, but the class system is where it gets interesting. You can mix and match warriors, mages, and some weirder picks (ever wanted a party with three thieves? Go for it). The translation patches floating around make it playable if you don’t speak Japanese, though good luck figuring out some of the cryptic item descriptions. Definitely a niche pick, but there’s something oddly charming about its rough edges.
