About Egypt
Egypt was a puzzle game released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991 by Atari Corporation. It came out late in the NES lifecycle, a time when many developers were experimenting with new ideas for the aging console. This was one of those experiments, a Japan-only title that never saw a western release.
You control a spherical jewel, moving it tile by tile across a grid. Your goal is to clear the board of all objects by matching them. The core mechanic involves stepping on arrow tiles, which shifts entire rows or columns to slide the pieces around. When you group two or more identical objects together, they vanish. The challenge is in planning these shifts, as a wrong move can trap you or make the board unsolvable. The game demands careful foresight, and the difficulty ramps up quickly as the layouts become more complex. It feels like a quiet, methodical test of your spatial reasoning.
