Dusty Diamond's All-Star Softball is one of those NES sports games that actually has some personality. You start by picking from this weird roster of players—each with their own goofy stats and animations—and then build your dream team. Some of them are straight-up terrible, but that’s half the fun.
The fielding controls take a second to get used to (why is throwing so awkward?), but once you figure it out, you’ll be pulling off double plays like a pro. And the two-player mode? Absolute chaos in the best way. Just don’t expect realistic physics—this is more about ridiculous dives and wild pitches than simulation.
It’s the kind of game where you lose track of time arguing over whether to pick "Boom-Boom" or "Slugger" for your cleanup hitter.
