About Dungeonland
Dungeonland came out for the Game Boy in 1992, developed by Kemco. It was part of that wave of early portable games trying to translate the feel of bigger console adventures onto the small screen. You get a simple quest in a fantasy world, the kind of thing that felt familiar if you spent a lot of time with your Game Boy in those days.
You control a hero exploring a multi-level dungeon, screen by screen. Your main goal is to find the Triforce pieces hidden somewhere in the maze. You have a sword for close combat and a bow for hitting enemies from a distance, which you switch between as needed. The dungeons are filled with monsters and traps, and you collect keys to unlock doors blocking your path. The game moves at a steady pace, but it can be quite difficult; you need to learn enemy patterns and manage your resources carefully. It feels like a focused, sometimes punishing test of your exploration and combat skills.
