About Dungeon Magic:light Bringer
Dungeon Magic: Light Bringer came out in 1989 for the Nintendo Entertainment System, developed by Natsume. It was part of that wave of cooperative fantasy games on the NES where you and your friends could tackle a quest together on the same screen.
You control one of four adventurers: a knight, a brawler, an archer, or a wizard. Your goal is to fight through a multi-level dungeon, defeating monsters and finding keys to unlock new areas. You hold down the attack button to charge a more powerful super move; as you level up by collecting treasure, this charge time gets shorter. The dungeons are filled with traps that can freeze you, poison you, or even turn you into a harmless animal for a few seconds. The game is challenging, with branching paths and secret rooms that encourage you to play through more than once. It feels like a tense, methodical crawl where every chest could be a reward or a nasty surprise.
