Dungeon & Magic - Swords Of Element (japan) Game

Dungeon & Magic is one of those weird, obscure NES RPGs that feels like it couldn’t decide if it wanted to be an action game or a turn-based dungeon crawler. You start off picking between three classes—warrior, mage, or thief—and immediately get thrown into this grid-based dungeon where monsters pop up out of nowhere. The combat’s clunky but kinda charming, and the magic system is… well, let’s just say you’ll be mashing buttons until something works.
It’s got that classic 8-bit grind where you’re constantly backtracking to heal, but there’s something oddly satisfying about stumbling through its maze-like floors. The music’s surprisingly decent too—haunting little chiptune tracks that stick in your head. Not gonna lie, it’s janky as hell, but if you’re into weird retro RPG experiments, this one’s a neat time capsule.
