Duke Nukem 64 is basically the same crude, over-the-top shooter you remember from PC, but now it’s crammed onto an N64 cartridge—and somehow, it works. You’re still blasting aliens with shotguns and pipe bombs, cracking one-liners, and stumbling into strip clubs (because of course you are). The levels feel a little smaller, but they’re packed with secrets and that same ridiculous Duke attitude.
First ten minutes? You’ll grab a pistol, punch a pig cop in the face, and immediately get hit with a cheesy action movie quip. The controls take a second to adjust if you’re used to mouse and keyboard, but once you get the hang of strafing with the N64’s awkward stick, it’s pure chaos. Also, yes, they kept the pixelated nudity—because it wouldn’t be Duke without it.
If you’re into ‘90s shooters with zero subtlety, this one’s a riot.
