Man, Duck Tales on the Game Boy still holds up. You start with Scrooge bouncing around on his cane like some kind of rich, grumpy pogo stick, and immediately you're thrown into these bright, chunky pixel levels full of secrets. The first time I played, I totally missed that hidden gem in the Amazon level because I didn't think to pogo off that one suspicious-looking platform.
The music? Absolute fire. That Moon theme lives rent-free in my head. And the controls are just tight enough that when you faceplant into a spike pit, you know it's your fault, not the game's. Some of those later levels get surprisingly tough, especially when you're trying to grab all the treasures without getting wrecked by those obnoxious ghosts in Transylvania.
It's one of those rare licensed games that actually got everything right - simple but not shallow, challenging but fair, and packed with personality. Still feels great to play today.
