Duck Hunt on NES is that classic where you point the orange Zapper at your CRT TV and blast ducks out of the sky. The gun feels weirdly satisfying to use, even if you have to stand way too close to the screen. At first it seems easy—just one duck lazily floating by—but by round 10, those things start zigzagging like they’ve had three cups of coffee.
There’s also clay pigeon mode, which is way harder because the targets are tiny and fast. And let’s be honest, half the fun is watching that smug dog laugh at you when you miss. (He only mocks you in duck mode, though—arcade version was meaner and taunted you in clay shooting too.)
It’s simple, but there’s something weirdly addictive about trying to beat your last high score while your arm gets tired from holding up that chunky plastic gun.
