About Dragon's Lair
Dragon's Lair came out on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1990, developed by Motivetime Ltd. It was a time when many games tried to translate arcade hits to the home console, and this was the NES version of the famous laser disc game.
You control Dirk the Daring, a knight, and your goal is to rescue Princess Daphne from a dragon's castle. The game plays out screen by screen; you explore different rooms and corridors, each presenting a specific hazard or enemy. Your main actions involve using your sword to fight off creatures and timing your movements to avoid traps, like pits or falling stones. The pacing is deliberate, as you must often stop and figure out the correct action for each new screen, and the difficulty is quite high, demanding precise inputs.
