Dragon's Lair (japan) Game

Dragon’s Lair on Game Boy is basically the OG quick-time event game—way before QTEs were even a thing. You play as Dirk the Daring, this kinda clumsy knight who stumbles through a dragon’s castle trying to save Princess Daphne. The whole thing plays like an interactive cartoon, so instead of free movement, you’re hitting buttons at just the right moment to dodge traps, fight monsters, or not get roasted by Singe the dragon.
It’s brutal, honestly. One wrong move and Dirk gets impaled, crushed, or turned into a pile of ash in these hilariously over-the-top death animations. The Game Boy version obviously doesn’t have the arcade’s slick animation, but it’s still got that same trial-and-error tension where you’re memorizing sequences just to survive. If you’ve got patience for old-school unforgiving gameplay, it’s a weird little piece of gaming history.
