About Dragon Warrior 3
Dragon Warrior 3 came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1988, developed by Chunsoft. It was one of the later, more ambitious role playing games on the console, building on what the first two had established. You could see the genre starting to mature right there on the 8 bit screen.
You create a hero and assemble a party of companions, choosing their classes like a warrior or a mage. Your main goal is to travel the world and defeat the archfiend Baramos. You explore the land screen by screen, fighting turn based battles with monsters, delving into dungeons, and slowly gathering the six orbs needed to challenge the final boss. The game has a steady, deliberate pace; it expects you to spend time leveling up your party and managing your resources. The world feels large and full of secrets to uncover, making the journey itself the real point of the experience.
