Dragon Sword 64 (Proto) is one of those weird, half-finished N64 relics that somehow feels more interesting because it never got a full release. You start off with this chunky low-poly dragon warrior swinging a sword that feels way heavier than it should—like every slash has actual weight behind it. The combat’s janky but satisfying once you get used to it, and the world has that eerie, empty vibe you only get in unreleased prototypes.
It’s rough around the edges (obviously), but there’s something cool about piecing together what could’ve been from the leftover dungeons and enemy designs. If you’re into digging through gaming’s lost drafts, this one’s a neat little time capsule.
