Dragon Ball 3 - Gokuu Den is one of those early NES RPGs that feels rough around the edges but totally nails the Dragon Ball vibe. You start off as kid Goku, wandering around, punching dinosaurs, and collecting Dragon Balls—just like the show. The combat’s turn-based, but with a weird little timing minigame where you have to stop a moving cursor to land stronger hits. Took me a few tries to get the hang of it.
It’s all in Japanese, so unless you’re fluent or following a guide, expect some menu fumbling. Still, the sprites are surprisingly detailed for an NES game, and the music’s got that classic Dragon Ball energy. If you’re into retro RPGs or just love the series, it’s a neat little time capsule from when games were still figuring out how to adapt anime properly.
