Dragon Ball - Dai Maou Fukkatsu is one of those early NES RPGs that feels rough around the edges but totally nails the Dragon Ball vibe. You start off as kid Goku, wandering around meeting familiar faces like Bulma and Master Roshi, and the combat’s this weird mix of turn-based and card-based—kinda clunky at first, but it grows on you.
The sprites are tiny but charming, and the music’s got that classic 8-bit energy. It’s all in Japanese, so unless you’re fluent, expect some menu-guessing (or a guide). Still, if you’re into retro Dragon Ball games, this one’s a neat time capsule from when the series was just finding its feet.
Just don’t go in expecting Z-era action—this is pure OG Dragon Quest-style adventure with Goku’s face slapped on it.
