About Dracula Densetsu Ii (japan)
Dracula Densetsu II came out for the Game Boy in 1993, developed and published by Konami. It was part of that wave of portable action games that tried to deliver a console like experience on a small screen, a direct sequel to the first Game Boy Castlevania.
You control Christopher Belmont, a vampire hunter armed with a whip. Your goal is straightforward: fight through Dracula's castle to rescue your kidnapped son. The game is structured across several distinct stages, each with its own theme and boss, before culminating in the final castle. You move screen by screen, whipping candles for hearts and other sub weapons like axes and holy water. The platforming is demanding, with precise jumps over bottomless pits and enemies that respawn if you backtrack.
