Dr. Franken is one of those weird little Game Boy gems that sticks with you. You play as Franky, a guy who’s basically running around collecting his girlfriend’s scattered body parts—which sounds dark, but the game keeps it light with goofy platforming and some genuinely funny moments.
The controls are simple, but the levels get surprisingly tricky. You’ll jump over pits, dodge enemies, and hunt for Bitsy’s missing pieces—an arm here, a leg there—before hauling everything back to the lab to stitch her together. The pixel art has this charmingly janky vibe, and the music’s oddly catchy for something so bizarre.
It’s short, but that’s part of the appeal. You could finish it in an afternoon, but the weirdness makes it worth revisiting.
