Downtown - Nekketsu Koushin Kyoku - Soreyuke Daiundoukai (japan) Game
📅 1990 ✍️ Technos Japan Corp.

This one's a classic NES-era party game from the Kunio-kun series—you know, the same crew from River City Ransom. It's basically a chaotic sports day with all the usual suspects: dodgeball, relay races, even sumo wrestling, but with that signature over-the-top brawler energy. Expect a lot of punching, tripping, and general mayhem between events.
First time I booted it up, I thought it'd be straightforward, but nope—half the fun is shoving your friends off the track or stealing the ball mid-throw. The controls are simple, but the AI doesn’t hold back, especially in later rounds. And yeah, it’s in Japanese, but the menus are easy enough to fumble through after a round or two.
If you’ve got nostalgia for couch multiplayer chaos, this one’s a riot with a buddy. Just don’t blame me when someone throws a controller.
