About Double Dribble
Double Dribble came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1987, published by Konami. It was one of the few basketball games available on the NES during that time, offering a straightforward take on the sport without the complexity of later titles.
You control a team of four players, moving them up and down the court to score baskets against the opposing team. The main goal is to outscore your opponent before the timer runs out. Key mechanics include passing and stealing the ball, attempting jump shots from various distances, and triggering a dramatic close-up cutscene whenever a player performs a dunk. The game moves at a quick pace, and the computer opponents provide a decent challenge even on the default difficulty. Playing it feels like a fast, arcade-style version of basketball where every possession matters.
