About Door Door
Door Door came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985, published by Enix. It was part of that early wave of NES games where developers were experimenting with simple concepts, often blending genres in ways that felt new for the home console space at the time.
You control a round character named Chun, who wears a baseball cap. Your goal is to trap a group of pursuing aliens by manipulating sliding doors on each single-screen stage. The main actions involve running across a door to open it, luring an enemy onto it, and then running across it again to shut them inside; once a door is closed on an enemy, it locks permanently. You also jump between platforms and ladders to avoid contact, since touching any enemy ends your life immediately. The pacing is relentless, with different alien types following distinct, predictable patrol routes that force you to plan your moves carefully. It feels like a tense game of cat and mouse where a single mistimed step can undo your progress.
