So Donald Land is this weird little NES game that never made it outside Japan—basically Ronald McDonald’s bizarre platformer adventure. Yeah, you read that right. You’re running around as the clown himself, jumping over pits and dodging enemies (somehow all trying to take over the "McUniverse," whatever that means). The levels are bright and cartoony, but the controls feel a little stiff, like Ronald’s got his big clown shoes stuck in molasses.
First thing you’ll notice? The music is weirdly catchy, in that old-school 8-bit way. And the enemies? Just random stuff like walking hamburgers and sentient fries. It’s not exactly hard, but some jumps are weirdly precise, and you’ll probably faceplant into a pit a few times before getting the hang of it. Honestly, it’s more of a novelty than a must-play, but if you’re into obscure retro oddities, this one’s a trip.
Fun fact: This was the first McDonald’s game ever made, which explains… a lot.
