Doki! Doki! Yuuenchi is one of those weird, charming NES games that never made it outside Japan. You play as a kid running around an amusement park, trying to win prizes at mini-games—except everything’s slightly off, like the kind of fever dream you’d have after too much cotton candy.

The controls are janky in that classic NES way, and some of the games are downright unfair (good luck with the balloon pop). But there’s something weirdly addictive about it—maybe the bright colors, or the fact that you can ride a roller coaster for no reason. It’s the kind of game you play at 2 AM when you’re too tired for anything serious.
