About Die Hard (japan)
Die Hard on the NES came out in 1990 from Pack-In-Video. It was one of many movie tie-ins from that period, a time when developers often tried to capture a film's story in an 8-bit format. You control John McClane, the cop from the movie, inside the besieged Nakatomi Plaza.
Your goal is to rescue hostages and stop the terrorists by navigating the building floor by floor. You move through rooms and hallways in a top-down view, shooting enemies with a pistol you find early on. A key part of the game is managing your limited ammunition and finding keycards to unlock new sections of the building. The pacing is tense because enemies respawn when you leave and re-enter a room, making backtracking dangerous. It feels like a constant scramble for bullets while trying to remember the layout of the confusing, maze-like floors.
