Devil World is basically Miyamoto’s weird little take on Pac-Man—except instead of ghosts, you’re dodging devils and crawling hands while scrambling to collect crosses. The whole screen scrolls, which throws you off at first, and those moving walls can trap you if you’re not careful. It’s got that classic NES charm, but with a slightly offbeat vibe (probably why it never made it to the US back in the day).
Fun fact: This was the only Miyamoto NES game that didn’t get a US release until the Wii Virtual Console finally brought it over. If you’re into retro curiosities, it’s a neat piece of gaming history with some surprisingly tense moments.
