Devil World came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1987, developed and published by Nintendo. It was one of the earlier titles for the platform, a maze game that arrived in Europe and Japan but never made it to North American shelves at the time.

You control a small green dragon named Tamagon, navigating a series of single-screen mazes. Your goal is to collect all the dots scattered around the layout while avoiding the various devils that chase you. Two mechanics define the play: the maze itself constantly shifts, its walls squeezing inward or sliding around, controlled by a large devil at the top and bottom of the screen. You can also find Bibles to temporarily stun your pursuers and a cross that lets you breathe fire to defeat them outright. The game moves quickly, and the unpredictable screen scrolling adds a layer of tension that makes simple navigation feel urgent. It feels like a frantic race against a closing environment.
