About Destiny Of An Emperor
Destiny of an Emperor came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1990, developed and published by Capcom. It was an RPG based on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, a time when many games were trying to translate complex stories into the 8-bit format. You play as Liu Bei, leading a band of generals to unify China under the Han dynasty, fighting against the Yellow Turban Rebellion and rival warlords.
You control your party on a world map, moving screen by screen to explore towns, talk to people for clues, and recruit new officers for your army. Combat is turn-based; you command up to five generals at once, using tactics and special abilities to defeat enemy troops. One of the key mechanics is the ability to capture and recruit over a hundred different generals throughout your journey, which lets you customize your party. The game has a steady pace, with some grinding required to keep your forces strong. It feels like you are building a loyal army from the ground up, one battle at a time.
