Desert Strike Game

Desert Strike on GB is one of those Game Boy ports that somehow works way better than it should. You're flying this chunky little helicopter over pixelated desert landscapes, dodging anti-aircraft fire while trying to rescue hostages and blow up enemy bases. The controls take a minute to get used to - you've got limited fuel and ammo, so every shot counts.
What surprised me was how strategic it feels. You can't just go guns blazing - you've gotta pick your targets carefully, ration your missiles, and sometimes just book it out of a hot zone when things get too hairy. The missions escalate from "take out this radar station" to full-on base assaults where everything's shooting at you at once.
It's got that classic 90s military vibe with just enough depth to keep you retrying missions until you nail the perfect approach. The Game Boy's limitations actually work in its favor - the simpler graphics make it easier to spot threats, and the chiptune explosions have this satisfying crunch to them.
If you ever played the SNES version, this one holds up surprisingly well as a portable alternative.
