About Dengeki - Big Bang! (japan)
Dengeki - Big Bang! was a Japan only release for the Nintendo Entertainment System, published by Coconuts Japan. It came out in 1990, a time when the NES library was full of quirky, experimental titles trying new things within the hardware limits.
You control a small, blocky robot navigating a series of single screen puzzle rooms. The main goal is to destroy all the enemies in a stage to open the exit, but you cannot attack them directly. Instead, you push blocks to crush them or trigger chain reactions. The signature mechanics involve careful block pushing and using enemy movement patterns against them; one wrong move can trap you or leave you vulnerable. The pacing is slow and thoughtful, with a difficulty that spikes sharply if you do not plan several steps ahead. Playing it feels like constantly untangling a stubborn knot with your hands.
