Datach - J League Super Top Players is one of those weird, Japan-only NES sports games that feels like it was made for hardcore soccer fans in the 90s. You get a bunch of J League teams and players, but the real draw is the Datach peripheral—this funky barcode scanner add-on that lets you load stats by scanning cards (good luck finding those now).
Without the scanner, it's basically a clunky soccer sim with some oddly specific player details. The graphics are about what you'd expect from a late-era NES game—not terrible, but definitely showing their age. If you're into obscure football history or just love digging up weird hardware gimmicks, it's a neat curiosity. Otherwise, you might want to stick to more polished soccer games from that era.
