Datach - Battle Rush - Build Up Robot Tournament (japan) Game

Ever wanted to build your own battle robot and throw it into a tournament? That’s basically what Datach - Battle Rush is all about. It’s this obscure NES game from Japan where you customize a robot piece by piece—arms, legs, weapons—then pit it against other bots in fast-paced fights.
The customization is surprisingly deep for an old-school game. You start with a basic frame, but swapping parts actually changes how your bot moves and attacks. Some combos feel clunky at first, but once you figure out which parts mesh well, it’s satisfying to see your creation wreck the competition. The fights themselves are chaotic, with sparks flying and parts occasionally getting knocked off mid-battle.
It’s definitely rough around the edges (it is an NES game, after all), but there’s charm in how ambitious it was for its time. If you’re into retro mech games, this one’s a weird little gem worth digging up.
