Dash Galaxy in the Alien Asylum is one of those NES games that feels like a weird, claustrophobic space adventure. You’re this explorer dude stuck in a maze of alien rooms, scrambling to grab objects before your oxygen runs out—and trust me, those little alien jerks love bumping into you to speed up the countdown.
The weirdest part? The perspective keeps flipping between top-down elevator shafts (where you’re just trying not to plummet) and side-scrolling rooms packed with hidden stuff. Sometimes you’ll stumble on a bomb or key that unlocks new areas, or—if you’re lucky—a secret room with a warp elevator. Just hope it doesn’t send you backward instead.
It’s janky in that classic NES way, but there’s something oddly satisfying about methodically clearing each floor while your oxygen ticks away. You’ll probably die a lot figuring out the layouts, though.
